The Best Shows at the 2024 Edinburgh Fringe, recommended by Leith Comedy Festival

Here are Leith Comedy Festival's best comedy show recommendations at this year's Edinburgh Fringe! For those of you who have been following Punchline's recommendations over the years, welcome to Leith Comedy Festival. The shows are all chosen by the same person, Rosalind Romer, Director of Leith Comedy Festival, so you're in good hands. In no particular order, except maybe our shows...

Leith Comedy Festival Presents... The Edinburgh Fringe Edition x3

First up, of course we want to recommend our own lovingly picked line-ups! 12 outstanding comedians over 3 nights in Leith, featuring TV names, international sensations and emerging local talents. If you don't remember the names of comedians and want a guaranteed laugh, these are the shows for you!

8pm | The Biscuit Factory, Leith | 15th to 17th August | Book Tickets

Amy Gledhill: Make Me Look Fit on the Poster

Last year, Amy became a new all-time favourite, making us actually cry with laughter from the start. The show is for age 14 plus so it’s good for different generations to enjoy together too.

6.10pm | Monkey Barrel | 13th to 25th August | Book Tickets

Emma Sidi is Sue Gray

You might know Emma from Starstruck or Ghosts, and she’s a contestant on this year’s Taskmaster. She’s one of the best character acts around!

4.15pm | Pleasance Courtyard | 31st July to 25th August (not 7th, 14th or 17th) | Book Tickets

Jack Skipper: Skint

You may have seen Jack’s ultra-relatable videos on social media (if not, look him up!), and we can’t wait to see him live. Book tickets before the five stars reviews start coming in.

8.20pm | Pleasance Courtyard | 31st July to 25th August (not 12th) | Book Tickets

Rosco McClelland: Sudden Death

One of the best comics on the Scottish circuit, Rosco’s Fringe show was firm favourite last year. This time, he's tackling the topic of death, and if anyone can make it hilarious, it's Rosco!

9pm | Monkey Barrel | 31st July to 25th August (not 12th) | Book Tickets

Sarah Keyworth: My Eyes Are Up Here

This is the hot ticket of the Edinburgh Fringe. With extra Fringe shows being added in already, as well as a night at the London Palladium, catch Sarah in an intimate venue now while you still can.

1.25pm | Monkey Barrel | 1st to 25th August (not 13th to 16th) | Book Tickets

EXTRA SHOW 7.30pm | Pleasance Grand | 19th August | Book Tickets

Susie McCabe: Merchant of Menace

Susie has consistently produced outstandingly funny shows for years, and this year looks like it’ll be the best one yet. Just brilliant.

7.45pm | Assembly George Square Studios | 31st July to 25th August (not 7th, 14th or 17th) | Book Tickets

NOTES:

We've taken care to get the information correct, but things change so please check with the venue before you travel. If shows sell out, comedians often add extra shows so check their website.

TOP TIPS:

All links on here go to edfringe.com, but if tickets are sold out, try the venue's website as they may have some tickets left.

Sometimes venues release tickets that have been held back for press just before the show, so if you're out and about and your favourite comedian is sold out, it's worth checking with the venue 15 to 30 minutes before the show starts.

Tickets are cheaper on preview days, usually 31st July and 1st of August but sometimes a day or two before after. There are also 2 for 1 deals through the Fringe website on Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th August.
